Carbohydrates also help your body use fat efficiently and support the function of the brain and nervous system.About 55 percent to 65 percent of your calories should come from carbohydrates. The easiest way to measure this is to count carbohydrate grams, being sure to take in between 1.8 and 2.7 grams of carbohydrate per pound of body weight per day.
